Aarhus is the next biggest city of Denmark and the capital of Jutland peninsula. Despite of its long history, Aarhus is a quite young city, with its more than 40,000 university students. The contrast between the many young urbanites and the historic buildings creates a very unique atmosphere, which is why the city is colloquially called "the smiling city".
